Listed below are a few companies that will be offering those discounts and free meals to veterans.

Two things to be mindful of before going to each locations:

  • Proof of Military Service. Most companies require some form of military ID. These include: a Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired), Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Driver’s License with Veterans Designation, Photograph in uniform, be wearing uniform (if your service permits), Veterans Organization Card (e.g., American Legion and VFW), DD214, discharge paperwork, or other form of identification. Other restaurants and companies may go by the honor system.

  • Participation. Second, always call ahead to verify locations, times, and participation. Many of the listed companies are franchises and may have different policies. We will do our best to keep this page updated as we find new info.

The IRS wants to tax your illegal money https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2013/3/the-irs-wants-to-tax-your-illegal-money

Every morning at work, I read through different news article online. I usually find a few that catch my attention, but this particular article really has me lost for words. At first I thought it was a joke until I realized the story was on the CNN Money website.

According to the article, the IRS states that the federal government is requiring you to claim any money you've acquired illegally and for it to be taxed as if it was obtained legally.

The IRS tax instructions states: ""Income from illegal activities, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be included in your income on Form 1040, line 21, or on Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity."

I wonder if Ray Ray and dem from up the block know about this.

Surprisingly enough some have actually claimed money they've earned illegally. It's usually the criminals that were either caught or about to get caught. That way they aren't charged twice for their original crime and evading taxes. Their original crime may be a misdemeanor, but evading taxes is a felony.

Now some people would say, “well what if I claim my illegal warnings, wouldn’t I end up getting caught?” The answer to that question is no. Due to privacy laws, the IRS is not allowed to notify the police or any other agency or disclose any information to any inquiring company without a court order. The only exception to that is if the crime you might have committed involved any sort of terrorism. The IRS would still need a court order to disclose the information but they can initiate the process themselves.

This same rule goes out to people that accept jobs that pay under the table. If your employer decides to pay you under the table or off the books, you are still required to claim that money. Your employer will not suffer any punishment if you claim it, but if you do not claim it and is later brought to light, you then face tax evasion charges.

The government will make sure they get money that is owed to them, but if they owe you money…good luck getting it!

For more on this story go to CNN Money.

Tickets For Left Lane Lurkers https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2013/2/tickets-for-left-lane-lurkers

I know I'm not the only one who hates driving behind a slow car in the fast lane. On Monday, legislation introduced to the State House  that it would make it illegal to linger in the fast lane.

Rep. Bill Hitchens, R-Rincon, has introduced House Bill 459, which would make it illegal to drive in the left lane except for overtaking and passing another vehicle. The new measure would only apply if another car is trying to get by.

The new law would make it where you aren't allowed to drive on the left lane except for:

  • Passing another vehicle.
  • When no other vehicle is directly behind the vehicle in the left lane.
  • When traffic make it impractical to drive in the right lane.
  • When weather conditions make it necessary to drive in the left lane.
  • When obstructions or hazards exist in the right lane.
  • When a vehicle changes lanes to comply with other laws.
  • When exiting on the left.
  • To pay tolls or use a toll pass.
  • When driving in the left lane comply with traffic control.

I was excited to read this, but my concern is are they going to actually enforce this? Last year they brought out the law making texting and driving illegal, but I still see people driving and texting everyday. There are times where the police themselves are driving and texting. I guess they are all above the law. Let's see how this ones goes...

Martin Lawrence Suing Trinidad James https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2013/1/Martin-Lawrence-Suing-Trinidad-James

Some of you might have heard of Trinidad James hit song, All Gold Everything, but apparently Martin Lawrence is seeking a lawsuit against Trinidad James. There seems to be many similarities between the artist and Martin's character "Jerome" from the Martin Lawrence show.

Jerome is known for his gold teeth, afro-puff, and slurring his words. If you look at the two you can see a similarity in looks.

Gerald Levin, the Martin show's creator, was quoted saying:

"Nobody’s that unattractive in real life. Gold chains, gold rings, and rotten teeth, that’s Jerome!! …Martin created that."

I know James isn't much to look at but damn Jerome?!? Nowadays you can sue anyone for just about anything so this doesn't surprise me one bit. I guess you haven't made it until someone tries to sue you. We'll just see how this unravels as time goes by.

Instagram Privacy Revolt https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/12/Instagram-Privacy-Revolt On Monday, Instagram made an update to their terms of service. One of the changes stated that data collected from the app can be shared with Facebook. That is understandable being that Facebook purchased Instagram. But what startled people the most was where the terms stated that "a business or entity may pay" instagram for your photos and use them for their advertising purposes without receiving any permission from you, the user, and without compensating you for your photos.

For photographers like myself, this is not right at all! We use social media as one of our ways of attracting potential clients so to hear pictures we might post can be used rubbed me the wrong way. If you're a  model, or an aspiring model this wouldn't set to well with you either.  Some women use social media sites and apps like Instagram to build up their fan base and even get work. That line of work, its your fan base and how you look that will get you any type of work.

Tuesday morning, the folks at instagram backtracked the language in their terms after the backlash they received monday. The co-founder of instagram, Kevin Systrom wrote in a blog post "The language we proposed ... raised question about whether your photos can be part of an advertisement, We do not have plans for anything like this and because of that we're going to remove the language that raised the question."

There were some people who have already deleted their instagram due to this. A popular tweeter feed associated with the hacker group called Anonymous was urging its more than 780,000 followers to delete their accounts and leave instagram.

It's safe to say that whenever signing up for any site or service, make sure to actually read their terms and their privacy policy. Clicking "accept" without actually reading it can place yourself at risk to things that later on you may regret. And the bad thing about it is, you wouldn't be able to do anything about it because you decided not to actually take the time out to read the fine print. A lesson we don't need to learn the hard way.

Instagram Launches Online Profiles https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/11/Instagram-Launches-Online-Profiles Instagram has announced on Monday that it will be launching an online web profile for its users. Your profile online will looks similar to the above photo of Nike's instagram page. Your profile would look similar to a facebook timeline, but with your pictures up as a collage instead of one cover photo as on Facebook.

Not everyone's account has been activated for the online version as of yet but you can always give it a try to see if yours is already set up. You can take a view of Nike's page to have an idea of how it will look by going to instagram.com/nike.

Just like the mobile app, which is available in the Apple App store and Google play store, you can set privacy setting so allow only certain people to view your photos. You can also follow other people's profiles to get an update on the pictures they post. The web profile allows you to share your photos with more people besides on instagram. Anyone can view your web profile if your privacy isn't set as private.

Instagram was bought by Facebook this past summer for $718 million after reaching a reported 80 million users in July. It wasn't going to take too long before Facebook offered a web version of the popular app.  The web profiles should be fully released within the next week or two.

Atlanta Steam https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/11/Atlanta-Steam The Lingerie Football League has announced the name of Atlanta's new LFL team. Atlanta's team will be called the Atlanta Steam. I must say, this might be the only Atlanta team that I would actually go out and cheer for!

For those of you ladies out here in Atlanta who are interested in trying out, it is not too late. Tryouts are being held Saturday, November 10th at 1pm at Score Indoor, on Oakley Industrial Boulevard in Fairburn, GA. Make sure to arrive an hour early in sports attire ready to try out.

The ladies applying will be tested on speed, agility, strength and focus, so they're not just looking for someone who looks good in a two piece lingerie, you have to actually be in good physical condition and able to play football. Make sure to bring a photo of yourself to leave with them along with the filled out application and waiver forms. You can download the forms by clicking on this link: Applications and waiver forms. Once selected for the roster, I believe you would receive a $50k a year and a modeling contract.

I would love to see someone I know playing in the league. Are you tough enough??

Mitt Romney Wants To Ban Instagram https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/10/Mitt-Romney-Wants-To-Ban-Instagram Some of us might agree that presidential candidate Mitt Romney is not the brightest one of the bunch, from his misinformed statements and failed attempts to make President Barack Obama look bad during the presidential debates, but what I just read boggled me.

I'm not 100% sure how accurate this story is, but being the person in question, it is not that hard to believe. Yesterday Mitt Romney was speaking at a retirement home in Florida before the last presidential debate and he called for a banning of Instagram. His claim is that the program is used for measuring quantities of illegal street drugs. This is another example of Romney speaking without checking and verifying his information.

According to Romney, thousands of kids are dying from marijuana overdoses. Marijuana overdoses? Really?

Romney tried to link this so-called drug problem to Obama's economic policies and of course stated what he would do if elected president. He's quoted to have said:

"I've just heard about this application - a mobile application for your iPhone  And what you do is place a small amount of cocaine, or marijuana, or PCP on top of your phone and the application instantly tells you how many grams you have."

"Its called Instagram. And do you know what the really scary thing is people? I'm told this instant drug measurement tool is the 9th most downloaded app for the iPhone."

"I visited the University of Florida recently. And everyone in the halls was talking about their Instagrams and how much they were sharing their 'dope pics' with their friends. They don't even try to hide it anymore. Under Obama dope has become an acceptable part of the culture."

"This is what the youth of Obama's America look like. Out of work. Up to their eyeballs in debt. And hopeless, they turn to their Instagrams to sell and consume drugs."

"Well when I am President we'll get our kids off their iPhones and into good paying jobs. And then we must ban this Instagram to make it harder for our children to fall into the trap of illegal substances."

NBA Adds New “Reggie Miller Rule” https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/10/NBA-Adds-New-Reggie-Miller-Rule Over the summer the NBA has implimented a few new rules into their rulebooks to help better the game and experience for NBA fans out there. One of the major issues that drew up a lot of concern were the high numbers of players in the league flopping. Players like LeBron James, Manu Ginóbili, and several others.

The newest rule added is being called the "Reggie Miller rule", which cracks down on players who purposely extend their foot while taking a jumpshot in attempt to create space between them and the defender, and to also attempt to receive an offensive foul. From the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn:

Also, officials will emphasize the "Reggie Miller rule" for a shooter who kicks his legs out during jump-shot attempts to create contact and draw fouls. Officials plan to call offensive fouls on shooters who blatantly kick out their legs to initiate contact.

Out of all the new rules implemented by the NBA, I would say the "Reggie Miller rule" and the anti-flopping rule are two of my favorite rules. The "Reggie Miller rule" would only call for an offensive foul be given to the player guilty of kicking out their leg to initiat contact, while the anti-flopping rule's penalty would be given by NBA officials after each flopping case has been reviewed and investigated by the league.

According to NBA.com, the anti-flopping would be enforced as follows:

Any player who is determined to have committed a flop during the regular season will be subject to the following:

Violation 1: Warning

Violation 2: $5,000 fine

Violation 3: $10,000 fine

Violation 4: $15,000 fine

Violation 5: $30,000 fine

If a player violates the anti-flopping rule six times or more, he will be subject to discipline that is reasonable under the circumstances, including an increased fine and/or suspension.

Some people might disagree with some of the new rules. They would say its making the game slower or worser, but unless you've actually played organized basketball, not at your local gym or local park, then you will understand. I've played organized basketball during my high school days and I've had to defend a shooter who would always kick out his leg everytime he shoots. It did become very annoying. Especially if it makes contact with your crown jewels!

Please leave your comments and express how you feel about these changes.

Chargers Investigated for Use of Illegal Stickum Substance https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/10/Chargers-Investigated-for-Use-of-Illegal-Stickum-Substance When you hear someone talk about an illegal stickum substance being used in football, the first thing that usually comes to mind are "The Little Giants'.  Last monday, the San Diego Chargers were suspected of using an illegal  stickum substance during their Monday Night game against the Denver Broncos.

One of the line judges noticed during a timeout that the substance was hidden in the player's towels by the team's equipment manager and confiscated it. He also went to the equipment manager and asked him to empty out his pockets. The substance was then sent over to the Denver Broncos officials along with NFL officials for further investigations.

"Stickum" has been banned from the NFL since the 1980's but some players have been caught using them. Former NFL player, head coach and current ESPN analyst Herm Edwards stated that, even after the ban he would place a small amount of stickum on the inside of his cleats to use at key moments during the games.

The use of stickum still didn't help the Chargers win on Monday night after blowing a 24 point lead at halftime to go on and lose to the Broncos 34-24. This will be further investigated by the NFL officials to determine how far back this has went, along with how many are involved. Several fines, suspensions and even lose of draft picks are amongst the possible punishments to be thrown out.

Warner Bros To Make Donation https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/7/Warner-Bros-To-Make-Donation After the late night massacre at screening of "The Dark Knight Rises", Warner Bros. will be making donations to several charities in the Aurora, Colorado area to support the victims of the shooting spree.  Warner Bros and their representative refuse to disclose the amount being donated, but it is said that it is a large number. This donation will go to the families of the 12 killed and to the dozens injured.

Warner Bros. is the Hollywood organization to make a charitable gift. This just shows how much of a heart the CEO has. In the wake of the massacre, the studio sent out a message addressing their concern and sadness. In respect to the families of people lost, they withheld releasing their box office figures for the opening weekend and canceled other events overseas. Not too many companies would do such a thing. Big corporations nowadays only are concerned with money money money. They probably would have had someone send out some words offering condolences, but how many would say they would donate money to charity aiming to specifically help those affected. The company that owns the movie theatre where this happened hasn't stepped in to offer any type of charity either. No one is asking them to, but that just shows you how some companies operate and think.

If anyone wants to donate , the governor of Colorado has set up a fund on www.givingfirst.org, which is a program of Colorado's Community First Foundation. The fund distributes all the monies across several charities that will support the victims of the July 20 killing spree.

Mass Shooting at “The Dark Knight Rising” Screening https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/7/Mass-Shooting-at-The-Dark-Knight-Rising-Screening I was just hearing on the radio this morning about a mass shooting in a movie theatre in Colorado at the midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rising". Officials say that a lone gunman entered the movie theatre through the emergency exit dressed all in black, threw tear gas at the audience, and then just opened up on the crowd. The 24-year-old suspect didn't have anyone in particular that he was targeting.

Witnesses on the scene said the 24-year-old suspect was dressed all in black with a bullet proof vest and riot gear helmet on. When I heard this, it reminded me of the move "Rampage", which came out in 2009, where that guy goes around in all armor shooting up folks in his town for no reason.

Reports indicated that there were 14 dead and over 50 wounded at the movie theatre. There were victims as young as 6 years old injured and taken to the hospital. The attack started during an action scene where there were some gunfire. I can only imagine what were going through the minds of the people there. When you first hear the shooting you'd think to yourself, "man this surround system is bad ass!", until you start seeing people falling down, tear gas everywhere and some lunatic in all black. One person there said he thought it was a part of the movie or maybe extra added effect until he heard the movie theatre alarms going off.

What makes this story worse is that the local Aurora, Colorado police department couldn't get into the movie theatre as the shootings where occurring. There are 911 calls, and emergency calls played where you can hear the police officers begging and asking that someone bring them gas masks. You would think that after 9/11 that every law enforcement agency would make it SOP (standard operating procedures) to have gas masks in every squad car.

My prayers go out to the family and friends of those who have lost loved ones last night. And also to those injured and are trying to recover from this horror.

It’s My Birthday https://www.thedocimages.com/blog/2012/7/It-s-My-Birthday Most of you may know that my birthday is approaching. Sunday July 22nd marks 29 years since my birth. I've received a lot of questions as to what would I want for my birthday. That is a question that has always been hard for me to answer every year. Many people make a birthday wish list with stuff they want, even create one on amazon.com with products on their that they want and users can anonymously purchase and have it delivered to them.

Growing up in a family that didn't really have much, I've grown accustomed to not expecting much on my birthday. Although I still do appreciate it when I do, but I don't get upset like some people do when they do not get what they want or asked for their birthday.

So to help the people that want to give me something for my birthday, I will just provide some information that may help you. I saw someone recently post the same thing on their facebook wall and I thought it was a pretty good idea.

Pant size: Waist 40     Shirt: XL   Button down: 18-18 1/2  Shoes: 10 1/2  Hat: 7 5/8            Favorite color: Red

If you really want to get me something but can't decide, I can just take cash donations. Getting a bill paid or putting towards it is also a helpful gift. You can donate whatever amount you decide you'd like to. You can simply click the donate button below which will take you to my PayPal account that I have.
